I don't live in America, but I am born there. Even then, it's always a huge culture shock when I head home xD
A recent visit to my hometown has been sooooo healing tbh. The people here are so nice and not totally stuck up and uptight! If they are, they don't hide it and you can easily avoid it. That's not to say *everyone* where I live is like that, though. I have a lot of great community around me that keep it real. Even out in the wild i've met some pretty chill people, but it isn't often.
It was so weird being able to go get my hair done by people who knew how to do my hair!!! I feel so confident with my new hairstyle hehe
The architecture here is also soo refreshing from the 1billion apartments and Minecraft houses I see where I live. Houses look like they're being lived in rather than looking like they're up for sale. People put flags on their houses and decorate their lawns and everything!! I drove around and went to the neighborhood I was raised in (i don't remember any of it), and just drove around the area which despite not remembering anything was very heartwarming.
The weather is also great! Ive been here in the spring and summer, but there's something about this spring weather that is so lovely. Some people look at me insane when I go out in shorts, but thank goodness the weather is versatile enough for me to wear pants and a sweater. Also I am obsessed with the humidity!! It's so refreshing whenever I walk outside
But guys. The number one thing for me might just be the food!! It's so delicious..... yes I am aware a lot of it is fake or highly processed, but I'm on holiday for goodness's sake! I'm not here to be healthy, I'm here to pig out and eat a lot of yummy food :3
Pray for me, though, because when I finish and return home, I start a very strict and evil diet. I'm going to miss junk food, but after a dirty bulk there's always a cut that has to happen :,)
