My First Quilt Progress

I finished cutting out all of the fabric! There were some parts that turned out a little messy, from the ruler slipping or me thinking its crooked and overcompensation trying to correct and other such things, but i think it is mostly workable! they are all in strips 2.5 inches wide, and will be worked into log cabin squares! The main colors are purple, blue and brown, with red for the center. I don't have a backing fabric picked out yet, I'll do that once I have the top put together.

I hope that I can get this done in time! It's supposed to be a gift for a special event happening this summer! I think if I can get my table cleaned up tomorrow, I can set up my sewing machine and start putting it together! I kind of wanted to hand sew it, go full traditional, but I already know I wont have time for that. Maybe if I can get it finished with enough spare time I might try to add some embroidery? I'll figure it out when I get there. I can do that on the next quilting project, if I don't get scared away from the entire craft by this one!
