I honestly think it's the stupidest thing, especially if someone did something a long time ago like saying something. I mean, people can CHANGE, and sometimes, some people get "canceled" for no reason at all.. PEOPLE CAN CHANGE OVER TIME. also people can make like jokes and sometimes people take it out of context from like a clip or something it's so ignorant. screw cancel culture in the ass dawg.Β

My take on Cancel Culture

cancel culture is just virtue signaling so losers online can feel like good people
but also being a pedophile and losing your platform bc of it isnt cancel culture

THIS POST^^ not only this, but i feel as people who engage in cancel culture are more attracted to the drama and excitement of cancelling people, rather than actually cancelling people who don't deserve their platforms. they also imo, target the littlest of things and things that are most likely not true. sometimes i feel like its rage bait to me when the thing they are cancelling sounds SOO stupid and silly.

EXACTLY !!!! im all for holding people accountable, but the main issue with cancel culture is that it doesn't recognize positive growth ;-;

Though of course if person did something genuinely sick like gr0oming,assault,murder etc,they deserve that shi,if not worse like getting locked behind bars for life (or better atp just fking kill them)

Spot on. Cancel culture has caused lots of fear around free-speech and simply contributed to less authenticity within forms of expression. It's disgusting and infuriating. All the attention going into what "x" celebrity said about "x" topic. When there's more prevalent topics to be discussing, all the attention and focus on this form of media as a whole is undeserved and a waste of time. Who cares? I hate it. :/

most of the time it doesn't even work. its not career ruining and people usually bounce back from it if it's something minor, like saying a naughty word a few years ago... the people that engage in this sort of culture forget that most (normal) people simply don't care about that sort of thing and are more open to forgiveness than forcing someone to apologize publicly for something they did years ago.

Some people don't change, though. They just get better at hiding. I ist very clear to see when some has genuinely changed vs hiding it.

True i only accept it when people do crazy things in modern times and/or keep doing it over and over
