i made another build today, similar style to the previous one. i took some extra time cluttering each room this time, instead of only one room. but, as usual, i went all-out in the teen's room.

this time i downloaded an exterior off of the gallery. i didn't feel like building one today. 

the family consists of two parents, a teen, a child, and a cat. life's been hectic since they moved in, but the neighbors in their apartment have been kind. the home is a little disorganized, but i think it makes it feel more homey. it reminds me a lot of my own place. it's a little messy, but it's homey and familiar. 

the entryway. it feels very lived-in. not every house is perfect. the shoes aren't exactly lined up properly, and there are a couple of bags lying around on the floor. 

the living room. it's pretty chaotic. there's stuff everywhere on the coffee table, which itself is a little busted up. i really like this couch from the cats and dogs EP, but i could never find a way to use it properly. the colors are very satisfying, and i tried to deviate from my usual earthy coloring for this room. i like to put in a bit of character into my builds by adding details. the things in a room can really tell a story.

the hallway. not much to say here. 

the kitchen + dining area. i used the same counters from my last build. i really like them. it feels very retro to me for some reason, which i like. i wish there were more decorative appliances, like rice cookers. i really want a rice cooker in the sims. the foldable table in the dining room is one of my favorite pieces of custom content. i added a couple of picture frames to the table, and even a vacation souvenir. my family doesn't buy many of them, for some reason. 

i wanted to use a refridgerator that had more stickers, but it kept bugging out my game. my grandma's has soo many pictures. of like, every family member. her entire fridge is covered in them there's like not a bit of silver in sight. 

the bathroom. not a lot to say about this. i don't really like how it turned out, but whatever.

the parents' room. it's less cluttered, but there's still some stuff here and there. my dad keeps a lot of stuff in all these plastic containers, so i reflected that in this build (in front of the mirror)

it's definitely a lot less overwhelming than the next two rooms.

oh, the teen's room. very warm and a bit dim, but i like rooms that way. sometimes i wished my own room looked like this. i tried to resist putting the old school computer in this one. i think this sim would like programming and even a bit of music. i would love to sleep in this room. i also discovered this amazing cc closet door that makes it look like it's open. 

the kid's room!! i love this one. i can never clutter rooms this much because i always have to worry about routing in-game. it's very animal-themed. i probably wanted this type of room growing up. i wanted to make this a lot more colorful- i've seen too many sad beige moms nowadays. i also think this kid would like art, as well. 

also the ladybug backpack made me cry a little when i first saw it. i had that same backpack growing up

anyway, this is one of my favorite builds. i spent way too much time on it, though.
