Spirit and entity working thoughts

I've been thinking recently about what signs I get when working with spirits. I've found that I feel my throat choke when the answer is a no or a disagreement and I feel light and airy when the answer is a yes or an agreement. Anything inbetween typically means that the answer is more complicated and requires further questioning. There are even further variations of these answers though, like when asking a question about something negative. Getting a yes for asking "Would you like some juice?" is gonna feel different than getting a yes for "Did something trigger you today?" It's really interesting and I felt like I should document this kind of information for personal future reference.

This video I found has some good words on the subject of spirit work, they talk about signs in the start and about how getting specific and weird with what you ask for for confirmation helps a lot. An example they give is that one of them posted pictures they took of an infamous local legend statue of a blue horse that they posted to be funny (specifically its balls and butthole), but then their mutual responded saying that they had asked their ancestors to send them a blue horse as a confirmation and they said "I'll take it then." They then also talk about how you gotta build your own library of divination symbols ahead of time, which I had always thought I should rely on teachers and outside resources for but I guess I can go ahead and trust myself. Cool stuff. The video also makes me feel better about not feeling confident as a medium, to quote one of them at the halfway point, "I like the spirits that are not subtle, cuz I'm a dumb bitch, I NEED hard confirmation." Like !! Me too!! I'm a dumb bitch, give me that sign!

They also speak on what it's like communicating with deities vs spirits and I agree so much with what they said. They said that deities and saints are more like leaving messages, while spirits more have conversations with you and they said that because of this they prefer speaking with spirits and I so agree. What a relief, I felt like such an asshole for feeling that way but now I know that deity work is just not for me. It's for this reason that I hope that I can work on communicating with local nature spirits, like trees and such.

They talked about protection and how when you work with spirits, whether you mean to or not you make ripples and waves in the pond that stranger spirits WILL notice. So note to self, get some protection oils sometime soon. I am attending a mediumship workshop on Saturday, so I can probably get some help there.
