my poem

guys idek if that worked if it didn't here's the txt version

What makes me?

I am from festive nutcrackers

From fences, from foil

Shiny, rusty, burning like my stovetop

I am from old decaying vines,

Ones that sit  on my backyard fence

I am from dough used to make ravioli

From ------ and -------, who never fell apart

I am from the thinkers the hardworking

"Dont be afraid to stand up for what's right,"

Nine words my grandmother told me.

I am from Mother Earth

from her soil and sky

I am from humid Florida and elegant Sicily

Flour and cooking oil rooted in my blood

From the words and signs my grandma

protested with,

On the mantle above the fire place

My loved ones sleep beside protection,

Heavenly protection, angels.

Belief and past-times

Of those now watching me.

 So, what makes you, you?
