arent you exhausted? it takes effort to blind yourself to all of the good around us
i see a mama dropping off her kid at school with a hug and a kiss, and she's left a note in his lunchbox; "i love you, have a good day!" and that's good. i see a papa tickling his toddler's feet at the grocery store, making her laugh and laughing himself, and that's good. i see a group of people working to clean up and rebuild homes after a terrible storm and that's good. i see somebody give a panhandler a $20 bill with a smile and thats good. i see a young couple holding hands as they walk down the sidewalk and that's good. i see an old couple joking and laughing about old times through the window of a mcdonald's on a sunday afternoon and that's good. i see somebody buying flowers to put on strangers' graves and that's good. i see crowds of people protesting for human rights across the country, across the world, and that's good. i see families taking care of each other thru the generations and that's good. i see people change their minds on important issues and that's good. i see people being vocal about the things they care about and that's good. i see parents teaching their children to love and be accepting of those different from them and that's good. i see effort being made to make the world a better place and that is good
don't you ever just go outside and look at the world go on, instead of sitting behind a screen and reading all of the latest news and gossip? there's a lot more out there than chaos and panic and fear and hate
it's sad when people join spacehey seemingly just to complain and put out their misanthropic views of the world and humanity. you seriously have to be willfully blind to not see any good whatsoever on this planet
i just watched a blue jay offer her mate an acorn. green grass is sprouting thru the dead brown leftover after winter. the poplars and maples are starting to bud. a pair of house finches are nesting on our back deck. isn't this all good? i hug my grandma every morning and tell her i love her every day. isn't that good? my boyfriend buys me little gifts when he sees something that makes him think of me. isn't that good? my younger siblings are both doing things with their lives that they enjoy doing. isn't that good? my mom, who abused and neglected me and my siblings thruout our childhoods, has recently opened herself up to talking about it, apologizing, bettering herself. isn't that good? i've been healing and bettering myself, too. isn't that good? isn't it good when a stranger smiles at you at the grocery store, or when a kid shares their favorite candy with you, or when a group of random teenagers stop to talk about music with you because they saw your band tee? hell, when someone falls in the pit, you pick them up. isn't that good?
it takes no effort to love and be loved. it takes 0 effort to recognize the good in this world. but it takes a hell of a lot of bending over backwards and mental contortion to write everything and everyone off as self serving and bad. why would you do that to yourself? why would you do that to anyone else?

This is so true! I feel like many people are so blind, like you said, to all the good in the world. They're cooped up in their bubble at home, rotting away in bed. I really admire the way you said this, it definitely needed to be heard for a lot of people. Especially with what's going on in the world right now (cough, cough USA).

I read your post and agree with you. There is far too much Hatred and Negative vibes going around. It is time that we all ground ourselves and look on the bright side for a change. I try to be a ray of sunshine everyday even when life is beating down on me because I know I am not alone. Sometimes giving someone a Smile can change their hole day. I always seem to be able to find the good in everything I use to think it was a curse because I couldn't see the evil within some. Now I know it was a blessing in disguise. I can now expose the good in someone and change their perspective even if just for a second. I see you as a Becon of Light. I am glad that I am not the only Becon in a dark night. Keep spreading cheer. :)

I saw a hawk outside my dinning window yesterday, I took my baby sister to the park and played with her, I saw my mother smile, i heard the birds chirping, those were all the good things i saw yesterday!!!!!!!!!!
