Before I start, no, I´m not referring to those people who dress goth or any alt style but are conservatives. I´m not goth but even I know that "goth" and "conservative" shouldn´t belong in the same sentence.
This entry is completely based in personal thoughts and experience. So, I´m gonna stop beating around the bush and get to the point. Coquette style, not only it has been associated with the whole "I´m just a girl" trend in 2024, in 2014, during its birth when it was labelled as "nymphete" it was associated with bad stuff like EDs, age gap relationships, and bad habits like substance abuse (not to mention that the whole community is really mean to anyone who isn´t white and skinny).
I must say, that, as far as I know, coquette is just an aesthetic, not a subculture like goth, it hasn´t got strong values tied into it (again, as far as I know), so can a person (that person being me) just like the aesthetic because its hyperfemininity and separate it from the whole bad stuff tied into it?

I think it comes down to does the whole community uphold these hateful values? or is it just really loud out-liars? it also brings up the argument of separating art from the artist. Like for example MSI, jimmy is horrendous but that doesn't mean the rest of the group is horrible and they make some good songs. Another way to put it is this style is just for silly and cute vibes, please who wear the style are individuals with there own prospective and ways of life. Or how every fandom always has those few individuals that scream the loudest but don't make up the majority of the populous.
