My Watch Is Fast.
How much I don’t know.
I live in a hole a mile down,
To stay out of the snow.
If only I had fixed my watch,
Before the sun disappeared.
How long ago I can’t remember,
My watch says it’s been years.
Years without food, years without water,
Years without the vitamin D that the sun used to give,
Why haven’t I succumbed to hunger or thirst?
I’d rather freeze outside than stay here in this coffin where I live.
My watch is fast.
My legs are slow.
I climb up the ladder,
And out of this hole.
Wish cold set me free,
Instead what I see,
Is the rising sun.
…
oh.
I wrote this one today while taking another test.
