i way hate how everyone views metal as a genre guys, i swear i know everyone has their opinion but I hate how goth, metal, and emo are always shoved together. thing is people in my community don't care for such things so they'd rather just not get educated at all which way sucks. i feel like everyone just thinks of the black clothes and early punk stereotypes. metal is a totally wide genre, personally I loveee symphonic metal. i also really don't appreciate the people who represent the genre like okay the music is good. Still, it gets to a point where they're making music just for the fame. I'm tired of pretending to like them speaking of popular someone get my friends some normal music, I cant stand their tiktok music taste ((how to say you listen to underground artists without saying you listen to underground artists 101) but no guys I swear they arent that underground and I do love a few popular artists, eg. jack off jill, him, hole, nirvana, julie, type o negative; only iydkmightky because of the instrumental part and the (gimme that) part, I also like their pyretta blaze) like actually stop judging my music taste when you ONLY listen to frank the weeknd and lana (oh how I hate lana but that's a whole other rant) like liking popular artists isn't wrong at all but I mean the ones who only listen to them like wheres the diversity? also I just watched the Minecraft movie and its so goofy, its good if you watch it with a friend but don't go alone, or do idk I js felt like it was the type of movie to watch with others.

I agree with you. I also hate how people think you only like those genres to be edgy and not because you actually like them. And so true the ones that only listen to popular artists are often so judgy and they think you're weird for listening to less mainstream stuff (we just have different tastes I don't understand why it bothers them). I guess I'm too addicted to music to have a normal taste in music (I spend soooo much time listening to music daily). And yeah metal has so many categories that often are completely different to each other. I don't know about you but it's so hard to find someone who listens to metal music irl T_T or even that they don't think it's trash
dude i like met tons of people who so dissed my taste but after I put them on I literally keep seeing the songs I recommended in their playlists, like I might've as well saved them cause like one of the things that really made me love metal is that all the songs that I listen to arent sexual or degrading women, like this friend used to listen to kanye and like okay he has a few good songs but they're always so inappropriate like call me a prude if you want but I really cant stand songs with such graphic and disgusting lyrics. of course every genre has artists like these but what I've noticed with the metal songs that I've come across is that they're usually pretty clean in comparison to modern music
