Hey all! I hope you've had a lovely Thanksgiving (or as I like to call it: Turkey Day) weekend.
Even if you didn't/don't usually celebrate, I hope it was still a relaxing time for you. This blog entry will touch upon what I did during my Thanksgiving vacation and a newfound interest I would like to pursue.
For my Thanksgiving vacation, my family and I went to Las Vegas. I go there fairly often to visit family. Normally when I go on vacation, we tend to be stuck with booking less-than-ideal hotels. This time around, however, we were able to land something much nicer (aside from the fact that we had to stay in a smoking room so it stunk like cigarettes whenever we walked in -_-)
During my hotel stay, I was able to use the outdoor pool and also its fitness center. The outdoor pool area was really nice! There were barely any people around whenever my younger sibling and I decided to swim. As for the fitness center, it had a lot of things to offer and enjoyed it as well. I don't normally exercise at gyms due to social anxiety ;_; Thankfully during the times I did decide to use it nobody was around. Lucky me! I like using the treadmill and rowing machine!
I did lots of stuff aside from the hotel too. Walking around downtown, shopping, eating yummy food, going to arcades, and even using a slot machine (and losing, of course ) For Thanksgiving Day, we visited some family members and had dinner at their apartment. I even got to decorate half of a gingerbread house! At some point, we visited some nearby canyons. By visiting this canyon, I was able to discover a newfound interest!
While at the the canyon, my younger sibling was looking through the many rocks that were around. They were hoping to find some quartz. I decided to help them. We found lots of cool ones. At some point, we broke one rock with a bigger one. We even thought we had found quartz, though eventually realized it wasn't at all and they were just shiny looking in certain lighting -w-
I enjoyed myself more than I thought I would while looking for rocks with my sibling. I also realized that rocks/minerals/crystals are really cool and may want to start studying/collecting them. This isn't the first time I've been intrigued by rocks. During the summer of last year, I went swimming and found a really cool looking rock. I couldn't help but analyze its colors, shapes, and the patterns on it. I think it would be lots of fun to pursue this interest further. Moreso as a hobby than anything else.
Truth be told, I really wish I was still on vacation. I enjoyed my time there and felt as if it went by way too fast. I guess time really does fly when you're having fun. While it's lame being back home already, I can at least look forward into diving into the world of rocks (though not literally, of course. That would hurt!)
Alrighty, that's all I have for this entry. I hope you all have a lovely evening ^_^
