Sometimes in cartoons there's a nice character that is absolutely despised by the main character, like Alan to Gumball. Excusing the fact I just called myself the main character, that is essentially what's happening with me. I hate someone everyone else likes. What does this mean? If I outwardly show my hatred towards them I'll lose like 1 bizillion aura, and just look like an asshole (which is exactly what I'd be). Now what do I hate about them exactly?
1. They seem to just excel at fucking ANYTHING they just about ever do (Art, Social, and being kind)
2. They have this certain way of speaking that makes them sound nice, but annoys me for some reason (Nicknames, speaking semi-fast, being nice ig)
3. Being a GODDAMN KNOW IT ALL, I don't think I've heard them say "I don't know" EVER
4. Being... nonchalant ah hell ig
5. BEING SOMETHING I CANT BE (nice)
Now that you've read this, you probably realized that this sounds like I'm just overreacting or something, or maybe that I really am just an asshole. Especially since if you met them, you'd see like ZERO reasons to hate them, but I seriously just can't help it. What does hating this person really say about me tho?? Probably that I'm a bad person or something. They FREAKING laughed at a joke I made just now and now I don't feel funny. Sad part is that last year during theater tech, I would've considered us friends. We had very memorable late night conversations and I took the time to learn about them and stuff. There was a point where I wanted to be just like them, but now that I have some classes with them, I've just started to despise them VERY much. Should I just try putting aside our differences and try being friends with them again? NAHHHH.🐺

You’re not crazy for disliking a generally likeable person, the fact that they are so likeable is what can make them so unappealing to someone, if people are too perfect we either feel uncomfortable around them or put them on a pedestal, this is totally normal. If you’re unsure and would rather just not be their friend just keep your distance, obviously no need to be hostile unless they do something to actually piss you off or hurt you.

Maybe because you aren't like them, like being nice is what you said, and that just automatically made you dislike them because you found it annoying. And maybe their ability to do things with ease, being intelligent, and being.. Nonchalant.. Makes you jealous and just increased your dislike for them
Or you just don't like them because you don't like them, that's valid too, and you just found different reasons to hate them more
