duolingo gives you the tools for vocab and basic sentence structure but you cant get fluent from it. paired with workbooks and tutoring (if you can afford it), duolingo can be a helpful tool wrt practice, but alone it wont do much good
im on a 1140ish day streak on duolingo norwegian. im taking it slow so im only on section 2, unit 16. im able to remember a lot of vocab words and stuff but in no way would i consider myself any more than a very basic beginner. not to mention that duolingo doesnt cover the different dialects spoken in different regions

but keep at it! by no means is it a useless app!
