Raising Arizona (1987) - 7.8/10
(I also watched it with my brother and he gave it a 8)
Overall Plot: An unlikely pair goes to extreme lengths to have a child. When an incompetent robber marries a policewoman, they discover that they are infertile. In order to appease his wife's longings for a child, the man steals one of a set of quintuplets, but mayhem ensues when the child's rich father sends a rabbit-shooting bounty hunter after the kidnapper.
General Review: Honestly, it was just a crazy ass movie about a couple wanting a baby. If anything, I'd describe it like... a lucid dream with a message. If you like sillier movies that are kinda all over the place but also has a message that will lowkey make you think about your own life, watch it!
Trigger warning/Advisory before you watch: Just general nudity and swearing, but nothing too bad or horrible. (I think?...)
BUT OH MY GOODNESS NICOLAS CAGE IN THIS MOVIE. HE'S SO PRETTY?? Any objections are DENIED./nsrs /j
Black Christmas (1974) - (my biased review) 10/10
Overall Plot: As winter break begins, a group of sorority sisters, including Jess (Olivia Hussey) and the often inebriated Barb (Margot Kidder), begin to receive anonymous, lascivious phone calls. Initially, Barb eggs the caller on, but stops when he responds threateningly. Soon, Barb's friend Clare (Lynne Griffin) goes missing from the sorority house, and a local adolescent girl is murdered, leading the girls to suspect a serial killer is on the loose. But no one realizes just how near the culprit is.
General Review: This IS not IF my favorite horror movie of all time. I talk about it WAYYY too much and has literally made me the person I am today. But enough about this movie being on of my special interests.. All together, it's just a very solid horror movie. It's actually the first of it's kind, going on to inspire the horror movies we know and love today. What I like most about this movie, besides just the characters themselves, is the killer. There's not much we get to know about him, hell, we don't even see his face. Yet, the movie gives us just enough from small pieces of audio and little interactions to make our own interpretations of the killer and what could have happened to him. Also the ending may be a bit cliche considering modern movies.. but it still holds up in my opinion and is great :D!
Fun fact!: A lot of sources say this movie actually inspired the Michael Myers/Halloween movies! Not entirely of course, but John Carpenter (creator of Halloween) asked Bob Clark (creator of Black Christmas) what he would do if he made a sequel to the movie, and Bob Clark told him he would set the movie on Halloween. So John Carpenter took that and made the Halloween movie.
Trigger warning/Advisory before you watch: Mention of rape and abortion (lots of it). Stupid guy in a green turtle neck trying to get his girlfriend to not abort their baby. MURDER. Of course. Harassment... Just really nasty language? Uses of the word: c*nt, p*ssy, etc (but primarily by the killer). Very implied abuse (?) (Primarily from the killers calls)

ANYWAY this movie deserves like a 7.8/10 but I love it way way way waywayayay too much to give it just that. I could literally write an entire Harvard level essay on this movie and the killer. Just watch it, honestly. It's a horror essential.
