the reason i do not like playing rdyd + a few safety tips

content warning for cussing, negative entities, trances, and caps. proceed with caution.


so, i'm not sure if many people on here have ever played red door yellow door/doors to the mind. for my own personal comfort i will be referring to it as the door game (just because i REALLY do not feel like banishing another entity this weekend). to put it into basics, there's two players, the guide and the subject. the guide sits cross-legged with a pillow on their lap, while the subject lays their head in the guide's lap while laying flat with their arms raised. the subject cannot be wearing any crystals or blessed jewelry, as it will block them from entering the trance. the guide chants (not sharing the chant again for my own comfort). other people can watch but they must stay silent unless they're chanting too. the subject lowers their arms once they start to see something. the guide must ask questions (ex. "what do you see?", "do you feel safe with this door?", etc.) as the subject explores.

now onto my reasons why i do NOT like being in the trance.

the first time i actually managed to get in, i was in for maybe 2 minutes at most. i was in a dark room, and there was a black door with a gold handle. the door felt extremely unsafe to me. i felt nauseous being near it. there was also a white eye in the corner. I walked towards the eye- which felt safe. It felt protective. and then something humanoid and dark green started running towards me on all fours. my guide woke me up, and according to her i had been shaking really badly when I was in there. i'm getting shaky again just DESCRIBING this thing. it wasn't a good being in the slightest. 

i feel like it's also important for me to mention the room I was in physically. it was about 11pm-12am and there were about 3 people in there besides me and the guide, who were NOT BEING QUIET. this room had two doorways (one with an arch and one leading outside) and a lot of windows. my friend (we'll call her zinc) also had a very bad experience in this room. she ended up having an entity clinging to her sometime before we decided to call it quits for the night (which is also the reason for the fact i opened my 3rd eye for the first time!!) i took a break for about and hour and did a tarot reading with Dionysus while CLUTCHING ONTO ROSE QUARTZ FOR DEAR LIFE. zinc also did some protection sigils with incense smoke and cleansed the SHIT out of me. meanwhile one of the people who was in there when that shit happened decided to make fun of my experience which was very pleasant ! /sar

my second experience was a lot better. zinc had just had a really nice experience that she described as a warm hug from Aphrodite, and I was feeling better, so I went back in again with a different guide (we'll call them our oracle considering they've had a right feeling about every experience.) the first thing i saw was a pink orb. it felt protective. i approached it, and ended up in a field. the pink was still there. it was sunny, and everything was vibrant and positive. there was a picnic blanket, and a basket too. it felt like it was there to help me rest, so i went over. the moment i did, a dandelion bloomed beside me. and in that moment i felt so fucking loved. i felt like Apollo was there with me, guiding me, helping me.

i woke up pleasantly :]

i should also add that zinc, in one of her experiences, saw something black peeking out from behind a tree- a good thing, a protective thing. i've seen this thing twice while not in a trance since that. i feel like it's here to help me, something sent by the gods.

now, onto things i've learned to avoid from experiences in the door game from last night.

-green is EXTREMELY BAD, unless it's plant life, green and brown, or green and pink

-purple doors are bad

-voids are bad

-literally avoid anywhere you feel bad about omfg

-forests are bad

-arched doors and gates are BAD

-motels typically aren't the best

-pink and blue are good!!

-feeling hot is bad, but pleasantly warm is good

-IF YOU ARE GUIDING AND YOU THINK THE SUBJECT IS UNSAFE FUCKING WAKE THEM UP.

-always have candles, incense, and/or crystals ready to help with safety. black tourmaline, obsidian, bloodstone, and rose quartz work best in my experience.

-rooms full of clocks are bad and can trap you

-men in suits/other entities in general are bad

-living flowers are good

-eyes are commonly protection
