20 weeks of paramore - week 5 - oh star

"and i won't let you fall away..." 

welcome to the fifth week out of twenty for my weird little paramore anniversary project. the song i want to share today is oh star! or, o star? i've seen it go by both names, though it seems that oh is the one on the official title.

i've been listening to this one a lot lately, and not just because i'm trying to write about it this week. the deeper, more mellow tones in this one always feel like a line of thought to me. not something that would usually be said aloud, kept to oneself. admittedly, right now this song is the one with my favorite lyrics. 

whenever i listen to this song, i always imagine the someone sitting outside, with a piece of college-lined paper. in one of their hands is a no.2 pencil, with its eraser tapping away at the sheet. the remaining rays of the sun during sunset wash the paper and their hand in streaks of amber. they wish to write their wishes to the stars above, hoping they're ready by the time the sun sets. there's so much they've been wanting to change in their lives, something's wrong. but staring at the paper, where do they start? what is most important? as the sun creeps lower and lower, they want to stop time, stop the movement of the stars. because what would it mean, when the wishing star comes and they don't have anything to show for it?

if you suddenly had a chance to change anything in your life, what would you change first? is it such an easy thing to choose? personally, i don't think it would be very easy. i think of one thing-- but then there's another thing connected to it. and another, and another, and another. 

but that's just me.
