Today i made that syrup from violets, it was very good!!! Subtly sweet just like violet tea, soon im gonna find wood sorrel and make lemonless lemonade with violet syrup!!
I also tried the violet syrup on toaster waffles, i expected it to make the waffles soggy but it didnt and a little bit of syrup went a LONG way with makin it sweet, \(^^)/ overall very happy with the simple syrup

oooo whats your recipe for lemon-less lemonade
Im so glad you asked! m not so sure yet since i havent harvested any wood sorrel but i think it might be something like
to make 8 cups (How much tea i make in a batch)
1) gather 1/3 to 1/2 cup of Wood sorrel flowers
(as i havent tried them, im not sure how lemony they are yet, but theyre small so you may want to use alot)
2) Clean wood sorrel then leave to soak in boiled water over night to get as much lemony goodness as you can!
(I usually boil water, let it cool til heated but NOT boiling then pour in a preheated pint jar over the flowers, because you can seal it and leave at ROOM TEMP)
Optional: Also soak 8 teaspoons worth of hibiscus for extra citrus flavor :o3
3) Strain liquid into larger container, add violet syrup (or other sweetener) to taste, then add ice! (or store in fridge til cool, freezer if youre impatient like me)
Ill post a refined recipe after i find the woodsorrel plant myself and see what part of the flower is most potent, as the whole flower is edible( ゚∀゚)

Glad i can motivate someone else to go foraging Xo3, Its very therapeutic for me and i hope it is for you too! (If you do look for wood sorrel, Even if you dont find it id look up some tasty forage-ables in your area, youd be surprised how many "Weeds" are actually edible plants with many uses!)
