A rant :)

Maybe it really is that damn phone. Maybe I doom scroll too often, and it's finally taking a toll on my mental health, OR, uh.. it could be the effects of fascism, idk. Honestly, it feels like a blend of all three-- but regardless, I'm terrified for my future, if I'll even have one.

For context, the fascist regime that's currently ruining my life has decided to cut the National Endowment for the Humanities, (or N.E.H for short) which is basically an organization that funds different kinds of museums, libraries, archives, etc etc... Mind you, this is after the circus that was last week when Trump (or Elon idk they're both the president apparently) made cuts to the CDC- and before that, they defunded the Department of Education. 

This pisses me off because 1) My second dream career was to become an Art historian. I say 'second' because my first choice was to become an actual full-time artist, but thanks to AI, it's uncertain if artists will ever be needed. 2) Not to doxx myself but I attend a predominantly black, underfunded school district. We rely HEAVILY on the D.O.E for various free resources, including a free lunch and, of course, programs for children with disabilities (which includes some of my own classmates). 3) It's really fucking scary when the government decides it wants to gut any and all organizations that are even remotely tied to academia. It almost sounds like they want us to be clueless as they dismantle our democracy.
