At school my friends always say that my parents are too strict, which I don't mind them saying because I feel the same.
But Im a teenager, so I assume every teenager has felt constricted by their parents before right? I don't know if this is a genuine problem or if I'm being dramatic and my life is perfectly fine. They aren't abusive (atleast not physically, they've only laid their hands on me 3 times) but if they're to strict could that be considered mental abuse?
I don't know, I need a place to vent and I rather tell strangers about my life than confront my parents about it.

Yes dude they are def too strict. And it’s def bad for both of you guys, because on their end of things it’s having an adverse effect of what they want. While they want to have complete control of your life, you’re just going to get sneakier and hide things from them. When something serious happens, you might not trust them. It does honestly suck, I go through the same thing but maybe even less so than you, and it’s def gotten me in trouble.

Do you feel like they're holding you back from living your life as you want to?
I do, theres too much stuff i keep from them because I know they would be opposed to it, something as little as music will get them angry
Not to mention ive won multiple awards (because of good academic) such as trips out of state PAID FOR (mind you they are educational trips so its not like i was going to be fooling around) and they say no. I cant attend any events, socialize, text people (they don't know I have an acct here and they don't know I have a personal Google acct)
They want me to rely on them for everything, they want me to be a child and to hold their hand. Im treated inferior
So yes lol they do tend to hold me back
