10 Years of Undertale and Nostalgia

Just woke the fuck up and realized Undertale will be 10 years old on September 15th.

Undertale was released in 2015, and I watched my first Undertale playthrough commentary in 2017. When I was 11 years old, I thought Undertale was the best game ever made besides Minecraft (back then I didn't discover there were more good games out there like from the Metal Gear franchise), and in fact, Undertale fanbase was the first video game community I ever joined (and I thought I was the coolest kid in my school lmfao).

I used to watch countless Undetale fan animations (Underpants included lol), countless Undertale Lets-Play videos (rewatch them countless times), some fanmade Undertale game playthroughs, some youtube videos about easter eggs in Undertale (especially MatPat's Game Theory), and I got exposed to some questionable Undertale fanart.

Right now, whenever I watch or listen to anything that is Undertale, or related to Undetale, or just Deltarune (love that game too), I will feel extremely nostalgic, I will get snap back to the room I used to watch Undertale videos, the familiar monitor that I watched my first Undertale playthrough commentary, the second phone that my mother I didn't use instead for me to watch Ink!Sans Fight, all these memories come back in an instant just because of one melody from Undertale.

Today, I'm not as fanatic about Undertale as I was before, after playing many other games and knowing myself that I wouldn't be such a fanatic Undertale fan for long, but still, this game still has a very large place in me, it reminds me who I was and my childhood, and joy that I had before, and right now, I think to myself, Damn! Used to think of myself as the coolest kid in elementary school for being an Undertale fan, what was I thinking about!???

In the end, Thank you, Toby Fox and Temmie Chang, and the many Undertale fan content creators for making the childhood that I didn't bore to death.
