VPOTW:
"Mary In Her Best"

This Photo is one of my collection known as "Cabinet Cards". Cabinet Cards were a popular form of displaying photos from the 1890s all the way up until the 1950s, however their popularity and widespread use was during the "teens" 1900s-1910s. Essentially, the photo would be pasted onto a sturdy cardboard, and hence the name, used in display cabinets in the home, or in their own photo album. This woman would be unnamed.. If not for some information on the back..

"Mary Lindemulder
Stouchsburg, Pa"
Now the writing is cut off, and somewhat illegible from the old style of it, but thats what I've gathered it says. We can surmise from her outfit that the day it was taken was leading up to, or on, her wedding day. She wears an absolutely fabulous arm/wrist bangle, and her ring is prominently displayed on her finger. I wasn't really able to get any information on her, however I feel the lack of info only adds to the mystery. Stouchsburg is a relatively small town, with a population of only 600, so one can only guess how many people lived there in the 1900s. Another old photo for the books!
