SO the switch 2 direct came out today, and after a DECADE, A NEW DK GAME IS FINALLY HAPPENING AND IT'S... INTERESTING...

First of all... The long awaited conformation of the new redesign.... RIP Rare-era DK design, you were iconic. You were the moment.... It's definitely something we're all going to have to get used to, but since it's been so long since we've had anything dk, my arms are wide open, as is my mind. If I'm being honest, I kinda like how exaggerated, strechy, and goofy his design is. It's modern, but also loyal to his character. But dear god, ditch the pants, DITCH EM I SAY!

I know this is only our first look, and you can argue not all of the game has been presented yet, but just where the FUCK is Diddy Kong? DK's best pal? no where to be seen? Replaced with a clump of purple coal?? NONSENSE!! Nintendo it's been a decade, If i don't see atleast diddy in this game, I'll go to your headquarters and start crying at your doorstep (as protest) Seriously though, maybe I'm asking for too much, but I WANT TO SEE THE REST OF THE GUYS TOO! Imagine how Funky would look! He'd look sick as fuck! What about cranky? Dixie too? PLEASE NINTENDO DON'T LET ME DOWN!

Also can I just say, NINTENDO WILL DO ANYTHING BUT BRING BACK THE KREMLINGS!!! I'M SO SICK OF IT!! I WANNA SEE MY K. ROOL!! IMAGINE KRUSHA AND GENERAL KLUMP IN A NEW GAME!! C'MON, THEY'D BE LIKE THE GOOFY HENCHMEN THEY WERE IN THE TV SHOW! WOULDN'T IT BE COOL!? But also let me just say... THAT THESE VOIDCO MONKEYS LOOKS KINDA FUCKING SICK?? Like Nintendo, if you're going to neglect the kremlings, the least you can do is give us actual cool looking villains, AND THEY DID!! THESE GUYS LOOK SICK!! Those chumps back in tropical freeze could never! what was Nintendo thinking with those guys? SO DULL! but these new guys? fucking sick! I give these VoidCo monkeys a thumbs up for intriguing character design!

My initial reaction to this game has just been a bunch of ups and downs, and I never thought in the event of a new Donkey Kong game, I'd be THIS picky. But don't let that give you the wrong impression, I am PUMPED! I'M SO FUCKING EXCITED FOR THIS!! NONE OF THESE NICHE DETAILS COULD MAKE ME HATE YOU, DK!!! And from what I'm seeing so far online, I haven't seen too much negativity around it! (...yet?) Which is another concern of mine. A flip in reaction once the game releases. I think I'd crumble...

Then again, I wouldn't be too surprised (just disappointed mostly) This game is doing a lot... It's going 3D for fucks sake!! An open roam DK game for crying out loud! And DK's design was met with mixed reactions when it was first teased. Not only that, but there's also the (minor, I hope) possibility of other existing DK characters not making an appearance in-game. Everything's a total switch from what we're used to, so all I can hope is that game is able to exceed expectations and not become the Nuts & Bolts of the DK franchise lol.
