So, i'm a person that has kind of geeky interests, and that's alright. I get to talk to my friends about them and get to know even more geeky things by just exchanging interests with them. But, there's also the awkward, weird moments when, you're with people you don't know, you start to talk to them, and you get into the subject of "what do you like" and, atleast me, a very not-ashamed person, tell them about it, not even a little embarassed, and then, you get the weird looks, and things like "you like... Anime? Um... Cool?" (or any other interest that isn't exactly the most standart thing to know or enjoy), like just shut up bro.
I rarely get affected by those comments, but once in a while, it get's to me, you know? Like, am i actually a weirdo that can't really talk about other things that aren't my interests? And that happens most times when is someone i think is nice or someone i really care about feeling awkward talking to me, or are just sick of the same things over and over. I don't know, just wanted to vent. Does anyone else feel like this??

I thought receiving weird looks for liking anime was left behind LONG ago. I mean it was pretty taboo back in the day but now it's pretty common to find anime fans.
There's just some people that like to embarrass others i guess :(
