i like the heartbeat in cure (alien stage)

i have a lot of thoughts about it but everytime i go to put them into words i feel cringe LMAOO

theyre pretty basic in the version on youtube, a relatively steady beat throughout most of the song, only varying at the start and during the chorus.

on spotify, however, there's a lot more to note. they get to play with it, use the heartbeat to evoke emotions they don't in the video, because there the focus is the visuals — but on spotify, there is nothing but music.

while the first verse has heavier, full beats as the focus, the final chorus has the smaller staccato notes happening more frequently. the heartbeat is quicker at the end, more erratic as they kiss, as ivan is killed. the main choruses are similar, although a bit less panicked than the final one — still quicker, still more irregular than the first verses. 

it feels stupid putting into words honestly but its just soo interesting how they used the bass of each heartbeat to immerse you where visuals cant. you can quite literally feel each beat, because each one vibrates through your chest.
