SOTN - mama, mcr

hello again, ive decided i probably wont do SOTN (song of the night) blog posts on the weekends bc im straight up dead from work and am way too tired to do a blog let alone code it! anyways, tonights song i had trouble picking because i hadnt paid much attention to the songs i listened to today (normally i have an idea of a song i really like a certain day). 

on that note i thought about how today is trans day of visibility (im visible today and today only now give me 200 dollars thanks!) and i was looking for a song that is about being trans or most people think of as a trans song. i do have songs in my playlist about being trans however i wasnt really feeling them today. then i remembered a story i posted on instagram with the trans flag over those lyrics in mama by mcr and then i thought about probably my favorite version of the song.

the live demo of mama from living with ghosts: what is different about this version is the change in lyric 

in the studio version the lyric is "but theres shit that ive done with this fuck of a gun, you would cry out your eyes all along"

in the demo the lyric is "'cause the shit that ive done with this fuck of a gun, your eyes bleed when the words hit your tongue"

now although it is my favorite version of the song, its not tonights song because it doesnt have the pre chorus!

i personally just think it sounds better however that isnt the reason for this song of the night, the reason is because of everyones favorite lyrics to sing that gerard points the mic to the crowd to let them sing

as i should always have, i have the song playing on autoplay in the background
