i see so many writers (amazing ones) quit because they ran into a block and/or burnout because they ended up posting just for likes and comments. It ruins ones spark when they get sucked into the pleasing others but not themselves because their audience demands more than the writer can handle
speaking from experience, i had burnt myself out on writing simply because i was writing for engagement and not because i wanted too, forcing out lazy shit just to get a like.
getting likes from ur passion is amazing, but posting for likes minus the passion inevitably digging urself into a hole…….idk.
Im not a writer anymore but i am an editor. I have found that editing when i get the spark to and then quitting when it goes away, leaving it till i get that spark backs help build my passion and ideas inevitably gaining how much i post and decreasing the inevitable burnout
i guess my conclusion is take breaks when needed. you don’t have to feel like you NEED to post, you have to WANT to, its okay if u run off schedule or don’t please ur audience. u have needs too.
