Huge storm where I live (freezing rain, power outtages)

Ok, so I live in Canada, and if there's one thing about Canada, we're famous for our terrible winter weather. This weekend, a massive storm hit us. It has been raining ice for the past two days, and the weight of it had made a ton of trees fall down. Unfortunately, this also means that our power has been out since yesterday. 

Now, this has happened plenty of times before. It's mostly boring, as it's too cold to do anything and there's no electricity to stay in bed and watch TV. So today, I've mostly just been writing, sleeping, and drawing. All the good things. We've been using our car to charge devices and stay warm. My dad had the genius idea of using candles as a stove, so we were able to have egg sandwiches for dinner (I love you Dad). Then we cooped up on the couch with our blankets and watched an episode of Monk on Dad's tablet. 

The town has officially called a state of emergency on the matter, and school is closed tomorrow so I suppose that's a plus. It gives me more time to finish the work that I haven't done yet (I need to read three chapters of Lord of the Flies, finish my slideshow on sulfur, and fake a journal for my drama class). Thankfully, the power came back on around 10:18, I believe. Unfortunately, 20 minutes ago as of writing this, it went off again. I'm not sure when it will be back, but I've never wished more that we had a generator of some sort.

Luckily, it was enough time for us to have the fire going for a few hours, long enough that the house is warm now (it cannot work without power; we have a pellet stove). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to shower in time, and I haven't showered in a few days. I feel very gross as of now, and I may have to use water bottles to wash myself again (I've done it before). That is, if the power isn't back on by the time I wake up tomorrow. 

I think this wouldn't be as bad if it weren't so cold. I could deal with this in the summer, or late spring at least. But the end of winter? It's currently 3C outside, which isn't actually that bad but the snow/ice makes it feel so much worse. If it were warmer, I would be able to do what I usually do on the weekends on warm days. I could go outside (unless it were raining), I could draw, write, play board games, read (that one's a maybe), play guitar, all of that. But right now, I don't want to because it's so cold. 

It's now 1:27 AM, I think I'm going to login to Club Penguin Journey and then go to bed, with hopes the power comes back by tomorrow. There's a tree in our backyard, but I feel worse for my friend who has three trees in his. So I'll edit this in the morning (?) on what the heck happens with the electricity. Hopefully it all works out. 

EDIT: Power is back! It's currently 3:14 PM, and it came back probably around 10 AM? I was asleep so I wouldn't know. Anyways, now that the powers back I have no excuse to not to my homework... hooray...

But more importantly, I can shower, and brush my teeth and eat toast. There's so much I need to do, like dishes and laundry and, once again, my homework. So hopefully I don't waste ALL of my time on Roblox instead of working on what I need. This is totally gonna work. 

Anyways, that's my update. I don't think the power will leave again, as the storm is over (at least I'm pretty sure it is). So now all I have to look forward to is tomorrow, April Fools day, the greatest day of the year. Get ready world, I'm the prank king.
