I listen to a lot of music (as shown by my profile), and I try to listen to atleast 2 albums everyday, so I figured why not make a list of all the albums I think are perfect? And here we are, 10/10 albums that YOU, yes YOU, should listen to! I'll most likely update the list as I listen to more music, and if you have any recommendations then please tell me! I love hearing anything new from all genres :3
American Idiot - Green Day (Punk) It's my favorite album of all time so of course I had to put it first. Favorite Song: Jesus Of Suburbia/Give Me Novacaine
The Dark Pool - Thornhill (Progressive Metalcore) Imagine falling asleep upon a bed of flowers in the rain and getting transported to space and shown the secrets of the universe. That's exactly what this album feels like. Favorite Song: In My Skin
TruANT - Alien Ant Farm (Nu Metal/Experimental Rock) Putting a genre on this album is almost impossible, there's acoustic songs with one of my favorite guitar solo tones I've ever heard, flamenco and spanish inspired songs, straight nu metal, and polyrhythms galore. Favorite Song: Sarah Wynn/Tia Lupe
A Tear In The Fabric Of Life - Knocked Loose (Chaotic metalcore/hardcore) This is Knocked Loose's best work in my opinion. One of the angriest, cathartic, and depressing records I've ever heard. "We have each other and that's all we'll ever need" Favorite Song: Where Light Divides The Holler
Move Along - The Grass Roots (Folk Rock/Blues) Old and easy. Favorite Song: Runnin' Just To Get Her Home Again
The Yuppies Are Winning - Harrison Gordon (Midwest Emo/Punk) Do you feel nostalgic about the past? Miss the games you used to play? The friends you used to hangout with? This is the album from you. Favorite Song: Excedrin
I Hope We Make It Out Of This Alive - Sold SoulĀ (Symphonic Deathcore) Deathcore about hunting dracula with some of the most beautiful violin and low singing you'll ever hear. Favorite Song: Sea Of Ghosts
NOW! - Rent Strike (Folk Punk) Imagine if American Idiot and Pat The Bunny had a kid, this would be that. 10/10. Favorite Song: NOW (..And Forever!!)
Something To Remember Me By - To Kill Achilles (Melodic Hardcore/Metalcore) A tale of depression, loss, and an eventual suicide. It's one of those albums where you just have to listen to it for yourself. "I can't deal with this all by myself, but men don't ask for help". Favorite Song: There's No Right Way To Say This/Something To Remember My By
it lingers - Fromjoy (Chaotic Metalcore/Breakcore/Literally Everything) Heavy. Pissed. Depressing. And absolutely gutwrenching. Favorite Song: So Young, Too Old/Phantom Bullet
Joy, Departed - Sorority Noise (Midwest Emo) While like a lot of the other albums on this list it's unequivocally sad it has something a lot of them miss, hope. "Learned to love myself before anyone else" "I might not be as dark as I think". Favorite Song: Using/Your Soft Blood
Foxing - Foxing (Midwest Emo/Indie Rock/Electronic/Experimental) Have you ever been doing something you enjoy but for some reason it just feels wrong? Like you hate what you're doing and don't understand it? That's the story of how this album was made and it shines through in every way. Favorite Song: Hell 99/Barking
This Bright And Beautiful World - Greyhaven (Progressive Metalcore) I could've put any Greyhaven album here, but this one got me into them, and my god is it perfect in everyway. Metalcore gift wrapped with insane lyricism and instrumentation and topped with the cherry of jazz influence and beautiful singing. Favorite Song: More And More Hands
No One Goes To Heaven - Left Behind (Doom/Downbeat Hardcore) GOD DAMN those vocals. If you like slow hardcore or anything southern then this is for you. Favorite Song: Throwing Stones/What Makes You Hurt
Roses & Compasses - Eli Noir (Indie Rap) Feel good rap from my favorite rapper. Favorite Song Envy The Rain
Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year - Kaonashi (Progressive Metalcore) If you've ever felt like you didn't belong, hated school, or anything of the sort PLEASE listen to Kaonashi. All of their music from Why Did You Do It? and forward tells a story and is insanely in depth. Insanely technical instrumentation and nothing but emotion in the vocals. Favorite Song: The Underdog III: Exit, PT IV (A Self Fulfilling Prophecy)/A Recipe For A Meaningful Life
The Other Side Of Sadness - Tripsitter (Melodic Hardcore) The final release by Tripsitter, and my god was it a way to end it off. A masterclass in melodic hardcore and raw emotion. Favorite Song: The Illusion
I Let It In And It Took Everything - Loathe (Metalcore/Shoegaze/Ambient/Etc) This album, this god damn album, it sounds cliche but it quite literally changed my life. It changed the way I played guitar, how I approach vocals, improved my songwriting, and altered the very way I see life. Beauty distilled down to it's truest form served with a side of unrelenting rage. Favorite Song: Screaming/I Let It In And It Took Everything
