Hello again. I'm doing such a bad job of posting weekly lol. I realized I didn't post a summary of spring break, so here's how it went:
Sunday - Got home (barely) as I was sleep deprived due to conference travel.
Monday - I slept 12 hours and nearly missed my doctor's appointment. Went shopping and picked up some groceries and things. Picked up my sister and mom from their trip. The check engine light came on in my car.
Tuesday - Took the car up to the dealership. Went shopping with my mom and sister.
Wednesday - Went to a nice local restaurant. I had some lobster mac n cheese.
Thursday - I visited my grandfather and got a nice (but rather light) crepe at IHOP. Back home, my sister and I went to a thrift store and I got some nice cargo shorts.
Friday - Got some ice cream (mint chocolate chip) and chilled out.
Saturday - Awaited the severe weather (it wasn't that bad where I was, but it tore up lots of places).
Now I'm going to summarize last week lol
Monday was St. Patrick's Day. I want to say that only about 1/3 of the people I saw were wearing green. I talked my friend's ear off about what I did during conference and spring break. Tuesday, the student organization I work for hosted a company meet and greet that I helped check people into. Wednesday was nothing special, neither was Thursday. I had a lot to do, though, as I had a school project that I procrastinated on and had to submit something that was essentially incomplete. Oh well.
On Saturday, I went to an informal organizational meeting to help work out standards for membership. It was at a cafe, so I got a matcha and a chocolate muffin. One of the attendees couldn't drive due to disability, so I drove him to the hospital so he could visit his friend. Sunday was quite the adventure. I was invited by a friend I hadn't talked to in a while to go to an event held outside. It was essentially a little picnic. I had a wonderful time; It was nice to engage in some community while playing catch, and additionally, the weather was nice. In the middle of the event, a friend of my friend picked us up and took us to a St. Patrick's Day party. It was chill, but it took me a minute to realize that this was a Christian gathering. That's not a bad thing, though. Religion wasn't the focus, but it was present. I got asked what I want in a husband, rather than a boyfriend, and that snapped me back into the reality that I am an adult. Overall though I had a good time, but I had no idea that my friend was in the process of converting. Everyone seemed to know her. What did the woman that she encountered say to her to convince her to join? I will admit that I'm a little jealous, but naturally I'm happy for her, as long as it makes her happy.
This Past Week
Monday wasn't anything too special. On Tuesday, I met with my team for my student org for the first time. It went okay, but sometimes I give off an uncertain feeling, which is not something you want to have as a leader. Also on Tuesday, we had a company meet and greet. Meet and Greets are amazing in the fact that they tend to hype me up and get me more interested in a company's mission and work. There was supposed to be a Lunch & Learn on Thursday, but it was canceled due to an unnamed emergency. On Wednesday, we had our last Exec meeting with the old executive members. Additionally, I learned that my sister has chosen to study at the university I currently attend. I have mixed feelings. On hone had, it allows me to be her first point of contact, and see the college experience in a new light as we participate in it together. On the other, I fear hindering her growth as a young adult. Regardless, it will be interesting what happens when she sets foot on campus in the fall. For now, I am the university's expert on all things college life, at least according to my family. On Thursday, I attended an event with the student org known as study night. We've noticed a decrease in attendance, which is normal to some degree given that we're now relatively late in the semester. Hopefully we can find a way to combat this. On Friday, I took a stats test and went to a small gala. The gala was held to comemorate student organizations. The org didn't win anything, but I had a good time and there was some good food. They had some delicious cheesecake. After the awards were given out, I went to Target to go get some Greek yogurt. I was still in my business professional clothes from the gala, so I felt a little silly. There was a basketball game last night and several formals, so everyone was in some sort of party attire.
Today, I made blueberry muffins. They turned out okay, but I added too much salt, and I didn't grease the pan well, so they're more like a blueberry crumble. I also got a contact that I can use to recruit for our student org.
Time is Running Out
Lately, it just feels like time has been slipping through my fingers. I went to a conference, went on spring break, went to school for a week, and boom, April is next month and we have about four weeks of class remaining. I wish things could slow down for a bit. I guess that's just what happens when you grow up. Speaking of...
Being a Job Hunter
The job market sucks and considering my lack of motivation and focus, I have had a hard time finding something to do. I hoping to stay in my college town this summer. I have a summer course, but it's only for half the summer term. Hiring for internships for this summer has essentially wrapped up, doors are closing left and right and it's hard to tell which ones are still open. Pair this with my mother's insistance and frustration and you have a hot mess. Thankfully there is a light in the darkness, as I have an interview scheduled for this Wednesday/Thursday. Hopefully I can get past the initial interview, as this is just a screener.
Media Stuff
So I had the pleasure of playing ENA: Dream BBQ yesterday, and ended up finishing it today. I waited for four years and wasn't disappointed. It's nice to see this series again as it conjures fond memories. I was surprised how short it was, but I know better than to get upset over something like that for an indie game. I hope chapter 2 releases in year or two, but we'll have to see. Additionally, I'm probably going to see A Minecraft Movie with a friend next weekend. It's probably going to be garbage, but there's something to be said about watching garbage with a friend and sharing a laugh and potential inside joke.
This upcoming week doesn't look too bad, as long as I prepare accordingly, as I do have some assignments due, of course. I also have my interview, and a weekend event to go to. Considering that March is almost over, I will say that March wasn't too bad, but I'm curious about how April will play out. Hopefully I have something to do over the summer before April ends.
Boa noite,
