(Poem) A Vampire's Love

In thousands of years, in hundreds of lives,

I wandered alone, no warmth survived.

But never before in this world had I known,

That I’d find a being like you alone.

Your presence warmed my cold, dead chest,

A feeling I thought forever at rest.

Your gaze like sunlight, golden and true,

A touch I’d long since bid adieu.

You envelop and melt me, slow and unseen,

Like springtime creeping where winter has been.

I see what you do, the kindness you weave,

A trait among humans I could not believe.

I thought it mere fantasy, foolish, untrue

And that, I must say, is rich from me too.

I saw her first beneath the moon,

A fleeting figure that exhaled a tune.

Her laughter wove a golden thread,

And stitched a song inside my head.

I watched her hands, so soft, so light,

As she cradled away my fright.

She did not know, she couldn’t see,

The way her warmth drove a stake through me.

I traced her steps in cold dry air,

Leaving roses for a lady so fair.

I knew the scent that graced her hair,

A mortal spell—so bright, beautiful to bare.

I learned her voice, each rise and fall,

The way she hummed a tune unknown.

Her heartbeat was a cherubim’s call

The only sound kindness had shown.

One eve, I spoke, my voice like dust,

A vampire’s heart, resigned to rust.

"I love you more than blood or time,

Say you’ll stay, and call me thine.

I wouldn't mind eternity dear,

For you have made me feel sincere.

Like no one before, you've shattered the cold,

And gave me warmth more precious than gold.

I believe we are woven as two,

That fate made me only for you.

I swear on the stars, on night and its hue,

That nothing could keep me from loving you.

I'll bring you wonders yet unseen,

A world untouched, where stars still gleam.

I'll give you years, a love that burns,

A life that never dims nor turns."

She touched my face, so warm, so kind,

And left my world of night behind.

A sigh, a smile, a gentle plea—

"Oh, how I wish I could love thee.

But love’s no gift, nor fate’s demand,

It blooms or wilts within the hand.

And though you glow in my dark,

I cannot feel a lover’s spark."

Years have passed and still I dream,

Your laughter lingers, a golden gleam.

I watched you wed, hold your vows true,

A life you built with no me and you.

You bore children, I remained

A shadow lost without a name.

Centuries pass, yet none compare,

Since you there has been no care.

You were the love of my life

The one who I could have seen become my wife

You were my heart, my only light,

Yet I must live in endless night.

No hand to hold, no warmth remains,

Only love that lives in veins.

And still I stand where once you shone,

A ghost who loves but loves alone.

Your name, your warmth, your fleeting tune,

A love that never was—but bloomed.
