!!03/27 nintendo direct spoilers!! - my complete thoughts

where to start.........

not too long ago, i mass downloaded a bunch of gamecube roms. Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 were included in that download; because of the MP4 trailer i have to catch up on the series now LOL. from what i've played of the Metroid Prime 1 (that being like, 50ish minutes? i really only did the beginning portion), it seems like it'll be pretty fun. i've always liked the idea of Samus as a character, badass soldier lady LMAO.

I also saw the new Tomodachi Life announcement. and frankly, i think this is the one I'm most excited for. I played the shit out of that game as a kid, i loved making my little ant farm of freaks. in all seriousness i have a lot of nostalgia for the one for 3DS. a detail i really liked in the logo design is that it looks a lot like the original game in the series (Tomodachi Collection for the nintendo ds, only released in japan). The Tomodachi Life (3DS) japanese logo also has the same flat yellow background with black and stylized lettering, its honestly kind of shame they changed that style for the north american version (even tho the design is still good in a vacuum).

as for the rest, i think there were a lot of JRPGs getting remade that seemed cool, i've never played but an acquaintance of mine has for a lot of them. I'll probably give them a shot when they come out. there was also the new pokemon coming out, but im pretty disinterested tbh since i've never really been into pokemon to begin with. but, a good friend of mine is a pokemon fan and they said they feel pretty deflated about it lol. pokemon in general seems to be going downhill from my perspective (as someone who's only really interacted with pokemon through osmosis with friends).

in general this has convinced me to get a switch lite at some point. im personally not really interested the switch 2 atm, since i already have a pretty poweful PC that runs more games. I'd only ever really buy it if there are some exclusives (new zelda, new 3d/2d mario, new kirby, etc.) switch lite seems perfect for me since i really love complete handhelds lol. I've been wanting to try out the switch kirby's and LOZ Echoes of Wisdom too (and, ngl, im probably going to get a mod chip and homebrew the fuck out of it so it can run linux or smth.)

I think that concludes my thoughts on this direct. what are yalls thoughts? i'd love to hear insight from folks who's played the games i haven't! and ofc anyone else, i love video game discussion.
