Doing the septum piercing on my own

Sooooo I really want a septum piercing but bc my mom won't let me do it I ordered a piercing kit online. I have already tried to pierce it once, I put the needle through, noticed that it was croocked but i didn't really care put the jewelry in and then realized it was in the totally wrong place, plus you could see it miles away, and i also used a straight bar hoping it would be less visible but I think it was the opposite. Tbh it didn't hurt that much but the worst part, atleast for me was putting the needle on the place where it needs to go through not it going in but just the feeling of that sharp top of the needle ughhhhh. Anyway, I will be piercing it again today but this time i will take ice or something cold and try to numb it sooo good luck to me i guesss. YEEPEEEE
