On not being unemployed

I'm at work now.

My day-to-day consists primarily of graphic designing.

Been following the progress of gen AI ever since I saw those acid-type hallucination looking images posted on 9Gag when I was in middle school. I've had my fair share from excitement and optimism to skeptical but hopeful and now... well...

That said, I saw a reel on insta about the new progress in generating images, that extends from product mockups all the way to infographics and pure graphic design. I was stunned, but not surprised. I was only a matter of time I suppose..? But you could say this is the first time that I truly and fully went, I am fucked. Then I saw the whole thing with vibe coding, and went we are fucked fucked. Then I remembered those videos with fully AI content & content creators and how convincing it was. WE ARE FUCKED FUCKED.

Anyway that earlier Insta reel, I can't remember what the source they had but, there was a list of jobs most likely at risk and I guess my role is pretty much at risk. Something about upskilling being important yada yada you know the song and dance. Long story short, I sighed and realised I probably need to re-learn some old skills I've had. I'm considering picking up UX/UI again so there's that.

But how long till that goes from not-at-risk to at risk?

Welp-

I'll just do what I can for now and figure out a plan for me to learn some UI/UX I guess. Here we go-
