Chubsy’s Slime-Free Oat Milk~! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

✨ Ingredients ✨

  • 80g rolled oats (not steel-cut or instant, okay~?) (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

  • 750ml cold filtered water 💧

  • 1–2 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional but yum~) (*≧ω≦)

  • 1/4 tsp salt 🧂

  • Optional: 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or cinnamon ✨

  • Optional: 1 tsp neutral oil (like sunflower or light olive oil) for extra creaminess~ (´。• ᵕ •。`)

🧺 Instructions 🧺

  • 1. Rinse the oats really well~! (≧◡≦)
Put your oats in a bowl or sieve and rinse under cold water. Rub them gently with your fingers until the water runs mostly clear.
(Why? It gets rid of the starch that causes ✨slime✨=ew!)

    2. Time to blend! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ
Add rinsed oats + cold water to your blender! Toss in your salt and extras (vanilla, sweetener, oil).
Blend for 20–30 seconds MAX, don’t overdo it or you’ll get… slime city (╥﹏╥)

    3. Strain the oats~ (っ˘ω˘ς )
Use a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or fine mesh sieve over a bowl. Gently squeeze or stir to get all the yummy oat milk out.
(If you want super smooth milk, double strain~ (´。• ᵕ •。`))

    4. Chill & store~ (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
Pour it into a clean jar or bottle. Keeps in the fridge for 4–5 days! Shake before each use because it separates naturally. (It's looks kinda nasty when it does lol)

💖 Flavor Ideas 💖

  • 🍫 Cocoa Oat Milk: Add 1 tbsp cocoa powder + sweetener before blending
🌞 Golden Milk: Add 1/4 tsp turmeric + a pinch of cinnamon & ginger

🧠 Pro Tips (from a weird milk nerd) 🧠

  • ・Always use cold water ❄️
    Don’t soak the oats
Don’t over-blend (seriously. slime is NOT cute)
    Rinse really well
    ・Be gentle when straining (ಥ‿ಥ)

btw, rinsing usually takes 1-2 minutes max. High power blenders can overheat ingredients quickly so be aware, and use medium speed if you have one. If you do use a mesh strainer you may not catch the most pulp. The milk bags get the smoothest results. I will say that some oat milk can ferment or taste sour after only 3 days. I'm not sure why it might be a jar sterilization thing.

I'll make another post about what to do with leftover pulp. I ahve to experiment though.
