VPOTW:
"Meeting A Sailor"

This photo was given to me in a huge lot of photos from a close friend of mine. It shows a woman standing next to a man in a naval uniform. This one actually came with some information, on the back:

It Reads:
Oct 14 - 28
Sun
"Met this sailor coast guard man on train to Boston to visit Uncle Harry + Aunt Lena after HS. Grad (sic) Their gift to me"
This shows that the photo was taken on October 14th, 1928. The woman in the photo took the photo with the man in the uniform, presumably once she finally reached Boston with him. The way its worded its clear she didn't know him personally, but was excited to take a photo with him. Seeing people in military uniforms in America before world war two was quite a rare occurrence, so its only natural to show intrigue and want a photo, especially when most people were somewhat sheltered. The black paper at the back shows this was once in a photo album, but was removed at some point before I got it.
