original artist wants to hear me cover his song!! (storytime)

OKay so I'm the lead singer in an alt rock band and today we finished a cover of weed by Niko Sitaras. This cover is important because Niko Sitaras himself made tabs for our rhythm guitarist to cover this song, and he wants to see it! Our guitarist was struggling to find tabs online so he messaged Niko asking if he could help assuming he wouldn't even see it. Well, he saw it. 

We thought a simple singer + guitar approach would be best so the rhythm guitarist and I met up for a quick practice and edited lyrics for a while (yknow, all the boring parts of being a musician) and took a walk down to a park with a pond. We sat down and talked about our bandmates, exes,  and whatnot for a bit until we stopped procrastinating and started recording. 

It took a good number of takes before we got the one. I only messed up on line and you can't even tell unless you're Niko ig. We posted it on the band TikTok account and mine for max reach (I have the same username and pfp there if you wanna see it). Gonna promote it for a day and see how that goes. SO stoked that the original artist is interested in our cover, and definitely grateful for his eagerness to help Rayne out with the tabs.
