Internet/Fandoms have been ruined

I miss the old Internet so much, the 2010s years. Everything was much more quiet and wasnt messy like now.

There was a big Fnaf, Bendy, MLP, LPS and GMod etc. obsessions, and everything was spinning around them, especially fnaf. Everything was Fnaf themed and games back then were so iconic that people were talking about those games for YEARS, even till now, unlike now when games get hyped for a few months then everyone drops them. Even the music was more iconic.

It feels like as if the Internet was “globalised”, which is a silly word to use because the Internet was always global but now everything became bland. There are no real fan cultures and everything revolves around Tik Tok and fast trends. Even now I see the game Dandys World and it seems such a basic and bland game, like where is the new? The progressivity? These games feel like a cheap copy of older games mashed up.

I kinda disagree, I think it's more relative to which spaces you're partaking in, sure some fandoms like FNAF and stuff were huge but I dont think everything revolved around them even as someone who was around it for quite awhile, I think the reason it seems like some fandoms wouldnt stop talking about them is due to being in said fandom, sure there are some games that release and get a huge amount of buzz at the beginning but I dont believe that buzz goes away, from the general public sure, but in the fandoms it doesnt, I can see where you're coming from about some games not having anything new but I think there's still a bunch of games that are still extremely creative with their own concepts that have released refcently :P

Then again that's just my opinion, cheers ^-^

As someone who lived through that era, every fandom was making their characters look like fnaf animatronics. Every fandom was partaking in it. Fnaf was a big thing back then, Youtubers made videos abt it constantly, a bunch of animations around it, other fandoms mixing their own w fnaf, a BUNCH of songs abt Fnaf so yes. It was a big thing and its still is. While games nowdays are a cheap copy of Fnaf, Bendy etc. And I keep up with videogames, I watch videos abt every horror game, no matter hiw vig is the game due to yourubers. Thanks for ur opinion but now I can not see u older than 14 lol

I dont see why you need to bring up the fact you lived through that era, I literally did also, you're conflating the fandom with the general public, if you were apart of the FNAF fandom you were going to see that stuff everywhere, people who were in the FNAF fandom and other fandoms would obviously make those 2 fandoms connect, it's not that those fandoms as a whole were suddenly infatuated with FNAF, it was specific individuals who were in both fandoms, im not denying it was big, im saying that most things didnt revolve around it as you claim, you know what else FNAF had going for it? the fact that it consistently had a crap ton of games released for it, that's what carried it's hype, FNAF would have been one of the games that got hype for a while and calmed down, only getting buzz in it's own fandom if Scott didnt release anything else, I feel like this is a narrow minded lense to look through, it's clear you literally do not, keep up with games like you claim to do if you think everything is a copy of fnaf or bendy, I mean just in the last few years I can think of quite a few horror games that couldnt even be considered copies at all: Endoparasitic, Lethal Company, Mouthwashing, Home Safety Hotline, Still Wakes The Deep, and that's just some of the popular ones I can think of off the top of my head, there really was no need for insulting, was simply looking for discussion

Yes, so u admitted that Fnaf was a big thing, and yes it was smart from Scott to release more games and if u think about it, most games cannot do the same, not every can make a series. And I was never a big big fnaf fan but my fandoms also were making fnaf drawings of the characters from my fandom. And the games u mentioned, they literally died down and isnt that upbringed like Fnaf is still after so much years. Fnaf was undenieable a big part of any fandom and for Internet culture. There isnt such big media nowdays which would also be seen in other fandoms with no relation to it like how it was with Fnaf.
