I am absolutely not special in my enjoyment in coffee, but I don't care, coffee is nice and I really enjoy making it. I guess it's just easier for me since I happen to live next to a bunch of local roasters and can get nice coffee beans basically whenever I want, but I don't tend to do that much because wow coffee beans are expensive sometimes. This also doesn't matter to me because I can afford to spend a little extra money on myself if it means I get to make more good coffee.
Over time though I've had a hard time choosing my favorite way of making coffee, cause I've done a fair amount at this point and they all have their pros and cons. Drip coffee is nice when I just want coffee right now, but it doesn't really make me feel a whole lot beyond "wow I really am drinking coffee"! I used to love using my french press but I BROKE it and I still don't feel like buying a new one (I'll get around to it at a later point...), but now I actually use my moka pot a lot. I actually had a really nice coworker at a job, was from Italy actually, and ended up teaching me how to use the moka pot right! Wonder what that guy is up to know, last time I talked with him he was planning on getting married to his girlfriend? Cool guy though, but he's not coffee so we can move on.
Very rarely though, when I have the energy, I use my espresso machine. It's like, really nice, I love it. Totally awful at using it though. I mean I guess that's not fair, I've made good coffee from it, but I've always been disappointed since I feel like every time I see someone online do it they're just waaaayyyy better than me! "Wow maddy, it's almost like you need to practice in order to get good at something," I say to myself! But that requires effort, so I'll just keep making okay espresso to have with my cannoli.
This is the truth behind my love of coffee. It's actually that I love desserts, and a good coffee makes them better. Thank you for your time.

I am- Surprised that I enjoyed reading the entire coffee obsession post. Then again, my father oddly introduced coffee to me as a child.
You breaking your French press reminds me of the time my sister bought this coffee machine. (I donāt know what itās called in particular.) Anyways, she was using it and it was always so loud, to the point I kept my distance. I always half joked with her, āThat thing is going to explode one day.ā Since it hissed so loudly. One day- It somewhat DID explode. Not really, but it got everywhereā¦ All over her and the counter. I start laughing because I knew something like that was going to happen.
She let me try some of the coffee. It was okay, I tend to like regular drip coffee.
Also, my favorite coffee beans- Is the dark, Mexican roast. JUST SOMETHING ABOUT IT makes me crave it. All the other coffees? Theyāre okay. Second in best though is probably mint coffee and chocolate. Anything else Iām okay with, but not a fan. And my ultimate coffee beans I hate- Is the cherry coffee. Even the SMELL makes me sick itās that bad. If I walk past the coffee area in the store I go for coffee, and someone had recently grind the beans- Iāll start to feel nauseated. And I tasted that stuff too, because my mother wanted to try it. I absolutely LOATHE it. (No hate on people who do enjoy it though. Just not my preference. <3 )
Moving on, can you suggest some coffee beans that I should try?
And lastly, even though Iām not particularly āaddictedā to coffee, like I canāt go without one day- I can go months without it. But I do enjoy coffee here and there. This post wants me to go make some coffee right nowā¦ Itās tempting.
Thanks for writing the post though, I enjoyed it. Hope youāre doing well, stranger.
I am glad you enjoyed reading it! I just had a really nice cup of coffee this afternoon and was like "yeah, I need to write a blog about coffee".
Having a coffee machine explode is CRAZY, but the fact you called it is really funny. I feel like so many coffee machines are really loud, even the one I have kind of scares me sometimes, mostly with the loud beeps it makes when it finishes. Too focused on making breakfast and I hear BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!!
I've never actually tried a mexican coffee, but I absolutely do enjoy a dark roast, usually makes for a nice coffee in a french press! (if only I still HAD one) I do love chocolate coffee, I've got some recently that's supposed to be good for espresso and ooooh, it sure is. Never had a mint coffee though, although I mostly frequent just one shop for beans, I could probably look around... I think fruit based coffees sound strange to me, but I remember this one time I had this blueberry coffee from this local cafe, and it was suuuuuper nice. Although I absolutely understand your preference, I don't know what this one coffee my dad buys is, but it smells super gross and bad and makes me want to just have ANYTHING else.
Suggesting beans can be a little hard... If you have any local shops that roast beans themselves, I would highly recommend going there and asking about beans! They'll usually be able to find a bean that fits your taste and how you make the coffee. Maybe a bit of a boring answer, but places tend to roast beans differently so I always just enjoy chatting with the people who work there :)
Thank you for the reply, it was a nice read, and if you have a cup of coffee, I would consider this post a success! I am doing quite well, hope you are doing good too :)

You saying that you just drink coffee in the morning and thought that it was finally time- To do a whole blog on it, I love that motive. XD
Okay- Hold up, blueberry coffee actually sounds REALLY good right nowā¦ Iām doing an all nighter, (hopefully I can stay up. Or I might just give in and go to bed.) So maybe some coffee might help me. Or not.
Speaking of dadās and their coffee- My dad drinks this SAME coffee 24/7, not wanting to branch out and try more. And heās super- Weird about it too. He wonāt throw out the old coffee, he just keeps adding more to it. Which is unhealthy and a safety hazard. But you know, itās my dadās specialty I suppose. ToT
Oh goodness noooo. My heart gets pumping the moment I start talking to a worker. Last time I talked to a worker I was about to cry, when I asked if they had the bird food I needed, more stock in the back. But my sister is actually good with people- Iāll make her talk for me, LOL. As per usual. She even orders my coffee for me, Iām too shy. Whenever my sister doesnāt come with me, I wonāt order anything on my own. But Iām working on my anxiety. Thereās this one coffee shop I like, maybe I need to woman up and actually- ASK them coffee beans that might be best for me.
Thank you! And Iām glad youāre doing quite well, too. Ł©( į )Ł
And thanks for the coffee suggestion, too!
