piercing troubles

this is mostly me freaking out about my beloved eyebrow piercing because it has become infected for the second time. 

Backstory

i first pierced my right eyebrow in feb of 2024. it was literally perfect. i forgot to downsize but even then she would barely get irritated and i could change the jewelry regularly. thats where the problem comes in. I falsely believed that my internship workplace wouldn't let me keep my eyebrow piercing in, so i used glass on the weekdays and switched back to my titanium balls (lol) on the weekends. one day i was showering WITHOUT THE O-RING (WHICH KEEPS THE GLASS IN PLACE) and obviously it fucking fell out my face and went down the drain. i was too scared to use my original jewelry so my IDIOT ASS just let it close and i told myself ill get it repiereced in august.

so my internship comes to an end and i immediately get repierced, only this time it got infected 5 months in. I was so distraught and i didnt want to part with it so i let it fester for weeks before i finally caved. it had created a medium sized fluid pocket, so it didnt bother me too much but my friends convined me to go and eventually i had urgent care take it out.

ofc i was NOT going to let my piercing go. it meant to much to me. i want to have a face full of piercings one day and healing this one is just the first step. so i went BACK to the piercer to be pierced a THIRD TIME, this time on my left side instead of my right. I liked it more on my right but i didnt want to risk infection again right? WRONG!

fast forward to now

last week i snagged it on my glasses and it fucking exploded. right now its a big swollen bulb on my left eyelid, so big that it pushes down my eye shape and its assymentrical. for some reason when i get infected, it only shows up on the bottom side and theres no swelling on the top.

it brought me a lot of distress. i cried the past 3 days worrying about how its making me look. i skipped my QUIZ today just because i was too worried about what it looks like. I went to the university health center so now i have a note though

even the thought of going to the doctor again and having them take it out was enough to make me burst into tears. but i went bc i cant have this on my face. to my suprise, instead of chastising me for letting it get this bad, my doctor gave me antibiotic cream and tabs and DIDNT try to take it out. im so fucking happy. i freaked out for no reason. this always seems to happen one way or another

moral of the story umm forget everything i said if u wanna get pierced DO IT, cuz everything is gonna be ok in the end
