POTW:
"Life Inside Death"
Tex Berdfleu
This photo was taken towards the end of my tenure in my hometown in 2024, in a constitutional in the center of town I took on my own with my camera. I went to the oldest cemetery near the center of town, much of which being the graves of people who fought in the revolutionary war, with some being from the war of 1812, and the civil war. In the center was this great big oak tree, that shrouded all underneath it. It had been there as long as I remember, and I'm sure some of the people who are buried here could have possibly seen it as well, perhaps. In the center, unseen in the photo, the tree had actually enveloped a headstone with its wood. Its majesty unrivaled, and yet.. unappreciated. It stood tall through wind, rain, snow, only to bring shade to those who aren't alive to appreciate it. I suppose we all do little things like that in our own lives. Doing the right thing, even if nobody is around to see, beholden to only yourself.
