Rick and Morty is based on Back to the Future?? ノ(ಠ_ಠノ)

So I watched Back To the Future tonight, one of my favourite movies since I was a kid, and I realised while watching, Doc and Marty's dynamic reminded me of Rick and Morty's dynamic, then I realised the names were also similar. After the movie I looked it up and i was right, I knew it. Rick and Morty isn’t just inspired by Back to the Future; it straight-up features its the characters. 

After the movies, one of the creators made a spoof short called "The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti". Then, when Adult Swim asked them to pitch a show, they turned that into what we now know as Rick and Morty. The similarities are pretty obvious. The relationship dynamics are virtually the same A wild, erratic scientist and a young boy. Going on the name Morty clearly dirives from Marty. It's the same for the characters love intrest, In Back to the Future, it’s Jennifer; in Rick and Morty, it’s Jessica. Even the dads of both shows have a similar personality and characteristics, Jerry and George are both pushovers and act meek (until Marty changes the past of course)
