I've had a cold for about a week and I've lost my voice a little bit and I'm going to Tokyo so I don't really want to be sick :( My host family said I should go to the doctors so I did. At first we went to the highschooler/adult doctors office but they said, even though I'm a senior in like 2 weeks, that since I'm 15 I had to go to the kids office. At the kids office we filled out the form, took my height, weight you know, the normal stuff. When I went to see the doctor literally before he even looked at me he said I had laryngitis... Then he grabbed this metal thing and looked in my throat for like 2 seconds. He wasn't wearing gloves by the way! Then he said he couldn't really see it well and moved on. Also the nurse grabbed my face and held it still while he was doing it ._. Then he took my heart beat and literally without asking the nurse started unbuttoning my shirt... it was so uncomfortable.
They ended up prescribing me 5 different medications including steroids?!? I feel like that's overkill? My host family said it was a good doctors office because they always give you lots of medication really fast... hey guys maybe that shouldn't be our metric for if it's a good doctors office. Anyways I'm kind of afraid. I hope I never have to go to a doctors office here again 🥳
