if there are people who are thinking/have gotten their bellybutton pierced, you could also benefit from the advice people will give! Anyways, here are my questions..
Questions:
1. How long will i have to wait in order to switch the jewelry?
2. When can i swim?
3. How long does it actually take to heal?
4. what is the healing process like?

Belly button piercings take around 6 - 12 months to heal. To be on the safe side, I'd advise against swimming or changing it out until 1 entire year after you've gotten yours done to make sure it's fully healed (I've had mine since Monday, 5/22/2023, by the way).
i can’t wait a year to swim! summers coming up and i think a few months will be fine. i know im not supposed to but i don’t want to ruin my summer

so my piercer told me that you have to wait abt 6 months to switch ur piercing. me and my friend went swimming after like 3 months and it was okay. only important thing is that you cant take a bath with it and seriously bc when i was having baths my piercing started aching and bleeding. not recommend. hope this helps!

I still took baths after getting mine done almost 2 years ago. However, for the first few months or so, I made sure to avoid keeping it soaked in the water (other than just splashing some soap and water near it) and filling the tub up too high.
I will say that the one thing nobody warns you about though is having to wear a cotton pad attached to a bandage wrapped around your waist over your new piercing for the first week or so all day as your body slowly adjusts to having a piece of metal in a freshly punctured hole in the flap of skin surrounding the navel, though. They also don't warn you about how painful it is to accidentally snag your jewelry with a t-shirt as you're putting it on over a fresh piercing, either.
