introduction

hello, reader! 

i'm kyte, but you can call me any variation of the name--or honestly, whatever you want. i use he/they pronouns, align most with the label queer, and, as of now, i don't have a solid understanding of my gender.

as i mentioned in my profile, i am a 1st year psychology student starting this blog to apply what i am learning in a formal way while also educating others using the knowledge i gain at university. my goal with this blog is to share and nurture my understanding of psychology as i progress through this degree. 

my posting schedule will be irregular and inconsistent since i am a full time student with a part time job. additionally, i am extremely mentally ill (however not diagnosed with anything, as i, ironically, fear psychiatrists with my entire being) and i tend to overthink absolutely everything i do, including any online activity. thus, posting will be difficult for me, but i suppose that is why i am doing this. exposure therapy. 

i am aware that spaceyhey doesn't have a psychology category and that this platform is more social than academic, so i doubt my blogs will get many views. however, if you do read a piece or two, i'd truly appreciate a bit of feedback, advice, or even a question!

a few facts about me : 

   ⟡ i am australian, born in nsw but raised in qld, and am ethnically white. guess my uni (ˆ𐃷ˆ)

   ⟡ i adore films and i am currently minoring in film and television. as much as i love watching and analysing films, i could never create or produce one -- just the thought of it is daunting 

   ⟡ i cant really write! i am terrible at putting words to paper (or text, i suppose) in a way that makes sense, so expect plenty of errors, inconsistencies, and things that just do not make sense. feedback is always welcome!!

   ⟡ i love music -- i listen to any and all genres and will happily take recs, as well as give them in return. i also love seeing bands live, and have seen suicideboys, la dispute, grandson, glass animals, and crywank in concert so far. i'll be seeing pixies in november too!

   ⟡ when not swamped with study, i do enjoy gaming.  i am currently playing through warframe, cyberpunk 2077, and death stranding, and i have completed (and loved) red dead redemption 2, the last of us, mouthwashing, detroit: become human, and others that i cannot remember. i am also quite literally addicted to overwatch despite it being a horrendous fps. 

   ⟡ i am 17, turning 18 on the 25th of may. despite still being young, aging is a terrifying thought, especially as i never imagined getting this far

   ⟡ i do not align with any religion per se but i utterly adore catholicism and paganism. i also dabble in witchcraft and spirituality, especially manifestation and quantum jumping

   ⟡ one day i do wish to learn another language. i'm really interested in romanian and spanish, but i struggle to stay consistent

   ⟡ i currently own an 11-year-old black labrador retriever. she is the loml and i will put myself down alongside her. i wish to own an irish wolfhound or a maine coon in future, possibly even a python too. 

some topics that i will cover in my posts will range from psychology to neurology, statistics, and possibly even a film post or two.
