Objectum is not as bad as people make it seem.

Let me start this off by saying that I am not objectum—I have a friend who is Objectum though. However, I will not let any bias into this post.

What is Objectum?

Objection is an attraction to inanimate objects. One thing people often get wrong is the fact that everyone seems to think that this attraction is purely sexual. However, many Objectum folk have platonic relationships with these objects. The relationships that are romantic have no sexual interactions within them. 

People who are Objectum KNOW that what they are in love with/friends with is an object, hence why they call themselves objectum. 

But being Objectum is unhealthy!

Being Objectum is not unhealthy on its own, albeit it can become unhealthy if the person is deep into delusion. Like I said before, these people are aware that what they are with is just an object. The only time it can be considered unhealthy is if the person in question genuinely believes the object is alive and therefore makes the person act rash, obsessive or violent.

Should Objectum be considered apart of LGBTQ+?

Despite all my defense of Objectum, I would say no. I’m the end, Objectum should still be considered a paraphilia. Albeit, not nearly as bad as the other paras. Yes, you can still find it weird, but you CANNOT and SHOULD NOT go out of your way to attack these people and call them gross. You SHOULD NOT hold these people to the same level of Pedos.

Even if you find Objectum folk weird or strange, you should still treat them with respect.
