The Power Of Nostalgia

Nostalgia is so weird. It hits you out of nowhere, suddenly you'll remember places you liked to go, moments you enjoyed, voices of laughter with people you loved and cared about. It’s strange, comforting but annoying at the same time, you love it but you hate it.

I have these moments when nostalgia hits me so hard. Like, when I come across some old photos when I was younger, hear a song that reminds me of a summer I spent with my family, when I pass by my old school, when I see my old toys I used to play with. Small moments that take me to the past, wishing I could go back in time and relive them again, even if only for a second.

You’ll realize that by passing time everything changes, people grow up, some friendships fade, situations shifts, your favorite toy is no longer your favorite and a place that was once called “home” doesn’t feel like one anymore. Now it’s just...different. It feels like you are stuck and even when everyone around you has already moved on but you still can’t.

The thing with nostalgia isn’t just about going back in time or wishing that things could by the same again. It’s about recognizing how every single moment is special in it’s own way..even these times when things felt so hard, stressful and pressuring...they’re still fill with joy and love in a way you just couldn’t see at that time. And trust me..you’ll miss it. It’s funny how every moment we are going through now will eventually end up as a memory.

There is that quote I came across and really liked "Nostalgia is proof that you are living a life worth living. It is a privilege to yearn for your own memories". and maybe that’s the power of nostalgia, it can make you miss the past but can also remind you how far you’ve become.

It’s ok to feel nostalgic and miss the past, but don’t forget to live in your present..cause every moment right now will one day end up being part of the past and you’ll look back wishing you appreciated it more..don’t wait until it become just a memory.
