Early 2000s PC video game whose name I can't remember. Help

My sister just brought up the topic of old video games we used to play on our pc (it had windows xp and linux). Usually i remember the games pretty well if i think about it because i of course have fond memories of them. However this time she talked about a game that i cannot remember.

You played as a hamster (at least she remembers it to be a hamster) and it was a game with poorly early 3D graphics and overall pretty dark. You would walk around a forest but the goal is unclear since my sister said we closed the game almost immedietley because it had no intrustructions on what you were supposed to do. 

She specifically remembers the hamster falling into water and drowning with terrible noises (hence she remembers it as a scary memory since she was very young when we used to play these games).

She also remembers the title screen having the name of the game and an arrow looping around it? And the hamster was also on the title screen waiting for you to start the game. If you pressed play he would get up and you could control him.

The game also was timed in the corner, which is pretty typical for those type of games so i don't know if that helps.

Unfortunately, the last time we tried to boot up the computer it didn't work so we can't check like that. However it 100% wasn't an online game since the pc was never connected to any wifi. It had to be on the PC as a file.

Please if anyone played this game as well and knows the name or has footage of the game PLEASE let me know, it is bugging us now that we can't remember.
