SPACE STATION #23 is definitely not the most important one. It's just out there on the outskirts of the civilization perimeter, focusing on research and development in several various fields, so people who occupy #23 are all very unique.
But luckу me, I got a job as a surgeon, and with me, the station's medical will be a two-man team (somehow with a 300-man crew), my conversations will consist only of cats under anesthesia on the operating table and one other employee in the break room, which of course I'm happy about, because am just a not big fan of small talk.
Most of the technology is repurposed from Old families so everything around the station has that weird feeling of overwhelming oppression. Giant halls, huge metal doors. Just going through them makes you feel insignificant compared to the ones for whom they were made. But now things are going much better.
Just 20 years ago drones lived in small tube-like structures, pods, and just enough space to sleep with a small shelf if you got lucky. Now, much of that space has been converted into living space so each crew member can get a personal room.
This room feels a bit too sterile for my tastes. Hanging a couple of things on the walls will fix that.
