Crywank - Hikikomori

I wrote this blog once already, but spacehey servers went down right as I posted. Be sure to give the photos time to load :P

I had a lot planned for this week, so I put a lot of work into getting all my responsibilities, academic or otherwise sorted before hand. However, in my rush in setting up for a lab experiment, I left my water open in my bag, leaving it and everything in it DRENCHED. This includes a really sweet 90s film camera I got second hand. It's almost gaurenteed to be broken, but it's been sealed in rice, so we can only pray... The same day however, I took this photo outside in a mirror shattered during renovations, and it made me get over it... my material sorrows don't hold me for long... (very big lie)

I got to see one of my all time favourite bands, Crywank! Not once but twice  !

It was so strange being in a room full of people singing songs I'd listen to in secret to their heart's content. Both shows were better than I could have imagined. I originally only planned for the Sydney show, but an on-and-off friend got dumped and fired and a whole bunch of other stuff, so I made him grab tickets and dragged him to the local show. Surprisingly, of all my university friends to run into the show, I meet with a friend who was a devout muslim. She was actually one of the last people I'd expect to see, I thought there would be some conflict with music and ramadan, especially with the content of the music. Though I guess there's some overlap, extreme humility and deep introspection, I don't know, it's above my head AND none of my business.

After the show, I got a photo with Jay and Dan, fun steadman fact, but Jay was my first non-lady crush of sorts. What? My face is censored? No no it just does that when I'm nervous.

The folllowing day, I did some work on campus in my professor's personal lab, working on an electrochemical corrosion experiment. Once I wrapped up there, I caught the train out to Sydney. There's a lot of reasons, but one of them is that every inch of land is marked with someone's personal history, like this heel lodged in the gutter of train station in a fenced of sector... how...

Everytime I go into Sydney, I'm resurprised by how many outrageously gorgeous men and women there are just walking around. It feels like there's no common sense for how to dress oneself for young people nowadays, which I'm a fan of. It's nice seeing people my age dress freely and as flamboyantly as I would wish to.

SIDENOTE: My lab partners and I were guessing each other's ages, and they settled on 27 for me... I only turn 21 in like 11 days? Turns out I'm the youngest person in all of my courses.

Anyways, I made it into Sydney with good time, this is where I called home... wait, this isn't my beautiful house, this isn't my beautiful wif-... I haven't got one of those... This is the penthouse suite I rented for the night near the gig, I wanted to spend a little more to get a little bit extra for an all timer band. It looks like a little house :)

It was around 6 PM, so I showered and headed to the show. EVERYONE WAS SO HOT !!! I was expecting a bunch of slobs like yours truly, but no, I was stuttering like an ape the entire time I was making friends on the floor. Below is all the band members, left to right is Jules, Jay, and Dan.

When the show ended near midnight, my new friends and I swapped details, and I went to pick up one of the limited run vinyl, I was grinning ear to ear when I got back to the hotel and stared at the prize of my journey. A "Tomorrow is Nearly Yesterday, And Everyday is Stupid" vinyl.

In the morning, my septagenarian spine almost gave out on me, but a few stretches helped me greet the sunrise casting over the Sydney harbour bridge.
