(Poem) An Orc's Lament

The orc gazes at her

Under the moon’s bright blue light

Her eyes glow with pure adoration

But not for him

Never for him

Beside her sits the prince

He’s cold, distant

He hears, but never listens

He kisses, when she initiates

He holds her hand, because it’s there

Stays with her, because it’s expected

She devotes herself entirely to him,

Believing, if she just tries harder,

He’ll love her as she loves him.

But she deserves more.

The orc knows it.

The prince doesn’t.

The orc wishes it were different

That he could kiss her, because he loves her

Hold her hand, so she knows she’s cherished

Be with her, because they belong

Devote his attention to her, so she knows she’s enough

Bake for her, when she craves sweets

Fight for her, when things get tough

Smile with her, to double her joy

Write for her, sing for her,

 because she deserves more

But she’s a human

and he’s an orc.

Love does not belong to his kind.

He will only ever be a monster, not a husband

Orcs don’t get happy endings

So he turns away and disappears again

Leaving her to a love that will never be enough

But at least, is hers

Poem was inspired by a lot of stuff but mainly this one film, I think it's obvious which one, lol
